WPost profiles the Baghdad housing market which had a mini boom post-invasion. As the number of refugees rise because of ethnic cleansing, many families are lucky to sell their house at half its value. The trend isn't a nationwide one, in areas like Anbar have a sellers market and Sunnis fleeing Baghdad often end up with much worse accommodations.
Last I heard (admittedly a year or two ago), prices are rather high in Kabul Afghanistan. Various governmental organizations and NGOs all bought up a lot of the better spots in the city and even on a budget had far more money than local competitors. Unfortunately, a lot of that money then left the country as the sellers bought a ticket to more developed countries.
