I'm rather pleased with how this trip turned out, but for varied reason I didn't end up taking any pictures so text description will have to do. The trip up on the Megabus worked very well and the trip back is even better as I have a whole block of seats to myself. The four and a half hour time commitment each way is considerable, but with plugs and intermittent wifi available it's much easier to work or entertain oneself in that time. That said, the full bus definitely cut into my productivity on the way up, a train makes a substantially better work environment as coach seats offer more room and a tray table while lounge cars sometimes can give you a proper table to work with. That said, the wifi cut out both times about half way through. That irks me, and makes me wonder if they need to just reboot their routers or if you get cut off after using certain amount of bandwidth or what. Admittedly, I didn't go to the driver for help but they were busy driving the bus so it didn't seem appropriate. Even so, I think the cheap inter-city bus trend bodes well for possibility of introducing more privately operated public transport (if we get congestion pricing).
